Dear RMCProfile user,

The next version of RMCProfile (6.5.2) is now available from www.rmcprofile.org. This new version is mainly about improving the usability of existing features and includes changes such as:

  1. Updated manual
  2. New x-ray exercise in the tutorial
  3. Bond valence constraints can be defined in the .dat file
  4. Distance windows can be defined in the .dat file
  5. Coordination constraints tested with new code and can be defined in the .dat file
  6. Tidied up the output display, stopped the number of moves counter wrapping at 1000000.
  7. New utility programs gaussdist and dwbuild (explained in the manual)
  8. Several bug fixes (possible new ones added :)

The Windows version has actually been on the web since August but we now have versions for Linux and Mac, so are now officially releasing it.

The next release will mainly be about improving the availability and features for EXAFS fitting.

Please let us know if there are any features or bug fixes you would like for future releases.

Best wishes,
Matt and Helen

p.s. Mavericks users: As of Mavericks, OS X no longer supports X-windows as standard and so it has to be downloaded and installed. The Xquartz package provides this and we currently recommend using version 2.7.6 which can be downloaded here: http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/wiki/X112.7.6
