Hi Dean,

I am not sure till which early version of glibc that the current linux package can support, but I do have the whole package compiled on a Ubuntu 12.04 machine which has glibc version of 2.15. I hope this can solve your issue once for all. Please find this version following the link below,

https://sourceforge.net/projects/rmcprofile/files/Version_6.7.8/RMCProfile_V6.7.8_Linux_64_Legacy.tgz/download

I tried to run it on Ubuntu 12.04 and it worked. However, since that’s the same machine I compiled the code on, I am not sure whether it will work on other machines. So, please let me know if any issues with this.

Cheers
Yuanpeng

Hi Yuanpeng,

Which version of glibc does this revert back to? Our cluster (SCARF) here at ISIS runs centos7 and this limits us to glibc 2.17. For this reason scarf users have been using 6.7.4 for some time now!

The scarf team hope to update the OS in the first half of next year so hopefully this issue will be fixed soon at our end anyway.

All the best,
Dean

Subject: [RMCProfile-users] About glibc issues on Linux

Hi community,

For those who are interested in running RMCProfile (the latest version 6.7.8 from our sourceforge page) on linux platform, sometimes the following error could pop up, preventing RMCProfile from starting,

```
rmcprofile: /lib64/libm.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.27' not found (required by rmcprofile)
rmcprofile: /lib64/libm.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.27' not found (required by /home/cades/Packages/RMCProfile_package_V6.7.8/exe/libs/libgfortran.so.4)
rmcprofile: /lib64/libm.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.23' not found (required by /home/cades/Packages/RMCProfile_package_V6.7.8/exe/libs/libquadmath.so.0)
```

If this happens, a quick solution could be – go to the main RMCProfile package folder (where you can find ‘exe’ and ‘tutorial’ folders) and execute the following command from there,

```
mv exe/libs/libm.so.6.new exe/libs/libm.so.6
```

I hope this may help you in one way or another.

Cheers
Yuanpeng
